Jonathan C. Kao
I am a Ph.D. student advised by Krishna V. Shenoy in the Neural Prosthetics Systems Laboratory. My research interests lie at the intersection of neuroengineering, neuroscience, and information systems engineering. I am interested in how populations of neurons control movements, and how we can apply such knowledge to improve neural prosthetic algorithms. In this endeavor, we develop and use machine learning and statistical signal processing techniques to study the activity of neural populations.
Prior to my Ph.D., I was an undergraduate at Stanford University, earning my B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering in June, 2010.
